National Rally 2018, survivors came with friends and family to support those of us where were taken from our families and communities.
Some of us have found our family and gone home to our communities, some of us have not.
We had a lot of new survivors join us that day. Nadine, in her 40's has never found her mother. Brenda, now 48 met her mother for the first time on March 30, 2018.
The pain of separation has affected us all, but on March 16 we gathered again, wearing purple ribbons.
We held each other while calling out to Canada for compassion. We're asking this country to hear our stories, to help us find our families and to offer us the cultural and financial support that we need to (re)learn our culture and find our mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters and cousins.
We did this together in Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver, Victoria, Whitehorse, Montreal, Calgary and Saskatoon.
