4th Annual Bi-Giwen Gathering Application Page

September 19th-23rd, 2018

The National Indigenous Survivors of Child Welfare Network (the Network) is pleased to present the 4th Annual  Bi-Giwen (Coming Home) Gathering which will take place on unceded and unsurrended Algonquin Territory from September 19-23, 2018. Although the event is open to all Indigenous (Métis, First Nations, Inuit) persons who experienced adoption or permanent crown wards in foster care because of the 60s scoop, it is important to ensure that equitable Indigenous, geographical and gender-based representation are considered to ensure a full-spectrum of participants can attend. The Network is accepting applications from interested survivors, and these applications will be evaluated to consider each of these factors.

This year we are limiting applications to fifty adoptees or crown wards who identify as 60s Scoop survivors.  Unfortunately, this year's applications will be limited to survivors only, this means no children, partners or support persons will be invited to attend.  We would like survivors to focus on their own healing and wellness and get the best experience possible.

Returning applicants will be required to take on volunteer and/or ambassador roles in helping make the workshops, kitchen and clean up run efficiently.

All applicants are required to fill out the registration form. Deadline for applications will be July 15th,2018.  Notifications will be sent to accepted applicants only. Successful applicants will be required to submit a registration fee to secure their spot.

If there are more applicants than space, a waiting list will be created. Applicants on the waiting list will be notified by email that they are on the waiting list. If a spot opens, the applicant will be notified that a spot has opened and will be given the opportunity to register.

Section 1 Must be completed by anyone attending.

Registration, meals and accommodations are all inclusive, however, transportation funds will be considered depending on need.

You can find a printable application HERE.
